Position: Cognos Reports Developer
Location: Troy, MI
Duration: 9+ Months
Interview: Telephonic/F2F
Job Description:
Experience and familiarity working with reporting tools, building/developing reports, extracting and manipulating data, creating views, organizing data; Cognos 10 (preferred), Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Microstrategy, or similar tools.
Experience with data mining
Need to have the ability to build extracts to pull large quantities of data for research. Ability to work with data sets from external data sources, review the data in order to create a deeper understanding of the data elements and their relationships to other data elements from multiple diverse sources. Ability to research the data and extrapolate and document business rules and relationships between data elements.
Database experience:
ETL Experience
Data Modeling
Tables
Views
Joins (especially inner vs. outer)
Data types (specifically different types of text fields)
Ability to document processes and designs.
Need to be able articulate the steps to creating reports, data included and the results found.
