Job Description: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•This position will perform JBoss software installation / update patches (if required) and ongoing maintenance and improvements and operations of the servers and ensure that the design of the computer system allows all of the components, including computers, the network, and software, work properly together. Managing property files.
• Installation, configuration troubleshoot and maintenance of JBoss Application Server version 7.1.1 and above in a multi-tiered enterprise production/development/QA environment (if required)
• Experience with working in UNIX/Linux/Windows based environment
• Performance analysis and optimization.
• Capacity planning.
• Deploying J2EE applications and code to JBoss, Deployments of EAR, WAR, JAR files, to Unix and Windows servers.
• Create standard procedures for installation, reporting, monitoring, and deployments of production applications.
• JVM performance tuning and Java application troubleshooting
• This position will also troubleshoot problems reported by users and other IT functions and make recommendations for future system upgrades.
• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues (if required).
• Coordinates with appropriate IT personnel to resolve complex network, core business application and server-based problems (JBoss).
• Performs system backups and restores on a regular basis.
• Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides.
• May also participate in design, development, testing, and debugging new system modules or enhancements to existing applications.
• Analyzes problems and provides recommendations for application improvements.
• Works with infrastructure and peers to determine implementation details for enhancements and applications.
• Participate in complete project lifecycle up to and including project implementation and work well within a team environment. • Work with software vendors to provide timely support and resolution to issues.
• Available to provide 24X7 support on rotating pager duty (if necessary).
• Establish and maintain working relationships with internal business customers, internal IT support groups and vendors to achieve project goals. • Perform unit, system and integration testing.


Job Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in hosting and configuring Java application servers (JBoss, Apache).
• Demonstrated knowledge of system security.
• Demonstrated experience working with monitoring and analytics tools (Nagios, etc).
• Working knowledge of deployment and distribution tools.
• Candidates must possess an understanding of version control, configuration management, along with Maven and Ant build processes for multi-module applications.
• Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS or Engineering/Technology or related field or equivalent experience/training. * Java development experience. * Experience with a variety of technologies including: Java, J2EE, JSF, JPA, JMS, SQL, Oracle 9i/10g/11g, Eclipse, Netbeans, Unix, Perl, Proficient in MS Office applications. * Ability to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize projects in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment as well as have excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Must be well organized, thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment, leverage best practices, and most importantly, innovate through any problem with a can-do attitude. * Airline business systems knowledge - a plus. * Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Hudson - a plus.
