Connectivity Architect(Cisco Unified comm. manager, CISCO jabber, Lync) @ McLean, VA

Hi,

 

Position: Connectivity Architect

Location: McLean, VA

Duration: Initial 6 months Contract(Long term contract)

 

"This position has been open for a while but the manager cannot find what he is looking for.

This is a connectivity architect position specializing in unified communications architecture (voice over IP, email, video conferencing, web conferencing).  This person needs to understand how these unified communications products are deployed."

 

The manager wants someone with:

Personality to be a go getter and drive the projects forward.  Independent thinking and detailed oriented.  Good communication and presentation skills

Someone from an operations and engineering background but has moved into strategic architecture design

Experience developing solutions architectures and reference architectures

 

Specifically, Client is looking to deploy Cisco and Microsoft products in the Unified Communications space.  These are the products they will be working with so having experience in these areas is required:

 

Cisco Unified Communication Manager 9.x

Cisco Jabber

Microsoft Lync including Lync Enterprise Voice; and integration with Microsoft Exchange.

 

Here is the actual job description:

* Participate in development of architectural strategy, including technology standardization and modernization of unified communications technologies across enterprise.

* Align architectural strategy with business objectives.

* Establish the technical principles that will guide the evolution of the segment.

* Enroll operational & engineering team members in the strategy, by interfacing at a technical level.

* R&D advanced technologies to enhance & evolve voice, video and unified communications across systems and services.

* Stay current with developing technologies and predict impact of changing technologies

* Continually find ways to improve cost performance.

* Write reference architectures and strategic roadmaps for unified communications technologies, and solution architectures for various infrastructure initiatives.

* For operational segments take ownership of outcome by driving the organization to world class results, including passing all industry tests and internal and external audits.

*

12+ years of IT experience, preferably in the financial services industry

* Experience with planning, design and implementation of Cisco Unified Communication Manager 9.x Cisco Jabber, Microsoft Lync including Lync Enterprise Voice; and integration with Microsoft Exchange.

* Ability to think on a multi-site enterprise level; be forward looking and drive tactical and strategic technology roadmaps.

* Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.

* Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

These skills absolutely MUST be in your candidate's resume.  I know this is a tough requirement.
